LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR

Dr. Magruder has over 16 years experience counseling individuals of all ages. He uses a combination of client-centered therapy, psychodynamics, and cognitive behavioral therapy to help people make the needed changes they desire from therapy.

Dr. Magruder believes that mental health issues are often symptoms of deeper suffering, and that by building a strong therapeutic relationship those problems become less impactful on a person’s life. He seeks to get to the root of the problem of the people he works with to help relieve their symptoms and suffering. Dr. Magruder believes when you understand yourself, the world around you, and your relationships with others, you can find an end to the suffering you are experiencing.

“Every behavior is driven by your feelings. Under those feelings is a basic human need, and when you understand your needs and values rather than focusing on your behavior, you start to focus on the root of the issue, not the symptoms.”
