Based on the principles of cognitive behavior therapy, Larry works with his clients in a simplified linear version situation-thoughts-feelings-behaviors. Larry has discovered that all of his clients as well as most of the population in general goes from Situation to Behavior without acknowledging their own feelings or thoughts. His background in counseling came from his own battle with addiction. He became a therapist through his own recovery process and enjoy helping other who are in the addiction and recovery process. However, his practice has taken a turn towards helping young adults with anxiety, depression, panic attacks and the residual effect of trauma as a child or teenager. He also enjoys couples counseling seeing as he has been happily married for 38 years.
"Situations or events in people’s lives elicit an emotional response, most people have no control over these emotions. A person cannot change how they feel, but if they change how they think, therefore they change how they feel."
