MATT WILLIAMS, M.ED., LPC, NCC
LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR
Based on a behavioral approach influenced by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, I offer a non-judgement space to encourage the mindful awareness of oneself; it’s like using a map at an unfamiliar outlet store… you have to know where you are standing in that moment in order to know the direction you need to go.
From there, it is one step at a time, identifying and building upon present strengths and learning new skills to cover the gaps. I love the insight of Jon Kabat-Zinn, “The little things? The little moments? They aren't little.” and in the spirit of that thought, I advocate for taking the seemingly little victories towards positive growth and purposefully living in a direction that is personally meaningful and fulfilling.
Matt has a background in Behaviorism and a passion for working with individuals of all ages and sexual orientations, with a particular focus on youth and teens, especially those on the Autism Spectrum, who face the complex challenges of social navigation in an ever-changing world.
“It’s part of the human condition that we create stories about ourselves and about the world around us. Our stories are often filled with limitations, and we proceed to live our lives inside those limitations.”
