TARYN MAU, MA, LMFT

LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Taryn is trained in Marriage and Family Therapy, and with this training, she believes that relationships matter. Whether it be the relationship you have with yourself or the family and friends around you, there is something significant about the relationships that inevitably mold us.

For the past 5 years, she has worked with individuals, couples, and families (as many as you can fit in a room) with a wide array of challenges, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and grief. In addition to Taryn's ongoing work with individuals and families, Taryn specializes in couple's therapy and is currently seeking certification to become one of the few Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapists in the state of Mississippi. Despite her experience, she enjoys most, however, working with people who feel comfortable in her presence, placing people before their problems.

“The relationship between my client and I is the most important intervention I can offer.” —Taryn

THERAPY APPROACH

Taryn incorporates system theory using a variety of methods, including mindfulness, emotionally-focused therapy, and internal family systems, to help her clients connect with themselves and others. She can provide spiritual or faith-based counseling if desired.

She is holistic in practice, asking her clients to consider how they can become healthier versions of themselves and challenging them to take steps in that direction.

"We can't have all of life's answers. Rather, we all get stuck at times, wondering how on earth we can fix what feels stuck or broken."

—Taryn
